Result of General Meeting: Change of Name

Further to the special resolution to change the Company's name set out in the Circular posted to shareholders on 7 June 2010, the Company is pleased to announce that this resolution was duly approved by shareholders at the general meeting held earlier today. As a result, the Company's change of name to Merchant Securities Group plc will become effective at close of business on Friday, 9 July 2010. The mnemonic will remain as MERC.L.

The Company's operating subsidiary will also change its name from Merchant John East Securities Limited to Merchant Securities Limited, with this change expected to take effect by the start of business on Monday, 12 July 2010.
