Change of Director's Interests

Further to the announcement made on 22 June 2009 Guinness Peat Group plc ("GPG" or "the Company") announces that Mr A I Gibbs has disposed of 4,020,295 shares in the Company at a price of NZ$0.68 per share.

Mr Gibbs now holds a total of 8,284,192 shares in the Company. There are no other changes to Mr Gibbs' interests in the shares of GPG or its quoted subsidiaries.
