Change of Director

Vertu Capital Limited announces that the Rt Hon Mark Simmonds has joined the board as Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Mark was, until recently, a Foreign & Commonwealth Office Minister with responsibilities for Africa, the Caribbean, UK Overseas Territories, International Energy and Conflict Prevention. He served as a Member of the UK Parliament for 14 years.

He focussed on driving and facilitating inward investment into Africa across a range of key economic sectors including hydrocarbons, financial services, infrastructure, energy and agriculture. He has a huge knowledge of the economic and political composition of African governments, countries and regions. He also chaired the UN Security Council on two occasions.

He now has a number of international roles including acting as a senior consultant to Kroll and as Chairman of the Global Advisory Board of investment platform 'Invest Africa'. He is a senior advisor to Farallon Capital, Chairman of FinComEco, and an Advisory Board Member of the Commonwealth Enterprise & Investment Council.

Prior to becoming the UK Government Minister for Africa, Mark was heavily involved in the real estate sector having dealt with commercial real estate as a Partner of Strutt & Parker and as a Director of CBRE. He also founded his own real estate business, dealing with direct investment and investment advisory projects. He has served as an independent director on a UBS Euro Zone Fund.

Mark Simmonds is also currently a director of:

Mortlock Securities Limited; and

Block Commodities Limited.
