D1 Oils Plc15 January 2007 15 January 2007 Lord Oxburgh becomes Chairman of D1 Oils D1 Oils plc (D1), the UK-based global producer of biodiesel, is pleased toannounce the appointment of Lord Oxburgh as Non-Executive Chairman of theCompany with effect from today. Lord Oxburgh succeeds Karl E. Watkin MBE, who will remain as a Non-ExecutiveDirector of the Company. Lord Oxburgh joined the Board of D1 as a Non-ExecutiveDirector on 27 September 2006. Since then, LordOxburgh has been an adviser to Climate Change Capital, a specialist investmentbanking group focused on companies and financial institutions affected by thepolicy and capital market responses to climate change. As an active parliamentarian Lord Oxburgh is currently involved with a number ofall-party parliamentary groups. He is Vice-Chairman of the Globe UK Group andTreasurer of the All Party Parliamentary Earth Sciences Group. He also chairedthe Science and Technology Select Committee from 2001 to 2004. Lord Oxburghspent eight years as Rector of Imperial College of Science, Technology andMedicine from 1993 to 2001. He is a former Chief Scientific Adviser to theMinistry of Defence. Lord Oxburgh was Professor of Mineralogy and Petrology atCambridge University from 1978 to 1991.
