CHANGE OF AUDITOR
Amlin announces that the Board has appointed PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP ("PwC") as auditors for the Amlin group.
Following completion of the acquisition of Amlin Corporate Insurance N.V. ("ACI"), formerly Fortis Corporate Insurance N.V., in July, the audit of companies in the Amlin group was spread between three audit firms.
With Deloitte LLP ("Deloitte") having been group auditors since 2000, the Board (on the recommendation of the Audit Committee) decided that it was therefore an appropriate time to put the group audit out to competitive tender. PwC was successful in this process.
Deloitte has deposited with the company a statement that there are no circumstances connected with their ceasing to hold office as auditors that should be brought to the attention of members or creditors. Nonetheless it is now a requirement of the Companies Act 2006 that a copy of such statement be sent to shareholders, which is being done today together with a covering letter from the company.
