Change of accounting reference date
Sirius Minerals Plc (AIM: SXX, OTCQX: SRUXY) ("Sirius" or the "Company") announces that it has changed its accounting reference date from 31 March to 31 December.
As a result of this change, the Company's reporting calendar will be as follows:
· Audited annual accounts for a nine month period from 1 April 2015 to 31 December 2015 to be announced by the end of June 2016; and
· Unaudited interim accounts for the six month period from 1 January 2016 to 30 June 2016 to be announced by the end of September 2016.
Thereafter, interim and annual reports will be published each year for the six months to 30 June and 12 months to 31 December in accordance with the AIM Rules.
The Board considers that the change of the accounting reference date aligns with best practice amongst major listed businesses and provides greater flexibility of timing for future financing of its polyhalite project in North Yorkshire.
The Board does not foresee any material financial implications on the Group as a result of the change in accounting reference date of the Company, nor is there any other matter of significance that needs to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the Company in this regard.
