Change in responsibilities/other directorships

UNITED UTILITIES GROUP PLC CHANGE IN RESPONSIBILITIES/OTHER DIRECTORSHIPS 31 March 2011

United Utilities Group PLC (the Company) announces that with effect from 31 March 2011, Dr John McAdam has been appointed as non-executive director and Chairman of United Utilities Water PLC the principal operating subsidiary of the Company. Steve Mogford is appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Company.

Furthermore, the following non-executive directors were also appointed to the board of United Utilities Water PLC;

Dr Catherine Bell;Paul Heiden;David Jones; andNick Salmon.

As a result of these appointments, the boards of directors of United Utilities Group PLC and United Utilities Water PLC are identical.

With effect from 30 March 2011 Steve Mogford and Russ Houlden were designated as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer respectively of United Utilities Water PLC.

This announcement is made in accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.11.
