Cancellation of Treasury Shares and Total Voting Rights

Cable & Wireless Communications Plc (the "Company") today announces that on 12 May 2016, 42,731,303 ordinary shares of the Company held in treasury have been cancelled. The Company no longer holds any shares in treasury.

Following the cancellation of the shares held in treasury, the Company has a total of 4,433,222,313 Ordinary Shares of US$0.05 nominal value ("Ordinary Shares"). The total number of voting shares in the Company is 4,433,222,313. Shareholders may use this figure as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FCA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules ("DTR").
