Bond Repurchase  Vedanta Resources PLC hereby announces that it has acquired US$ 40,000,000 in nominal value of the

US$ 600,000,000 6.625 per cent Bonds due 2010 (the "Bonds"), at an average price of 101.2438 per cent representing approximately 6.66 per cent of the aggregate nominal value of the Bonds in issue immediately prior to such purchase. This will be funded from existing cash resources.  Vedanta so far has purchased US$ 125 million nominal value of the US$ 600,000,000 6.625 per cent Bonds 2010 from the market.
