Alexey Miller re-elected as Gazprom Management Committee Chairman

The Board of Directors re-elected Alexey Miller as Gazprom Management Committee Chairman for another 5-year term starting from May 31, 2011.

Background:

Alexey Miller was born on January 31, 1962 in Leningrad. He graduated from Voznesensky Leningrad Finance and Economics Institute and holds a PhD in Economics.

Upon graduation, Alexey Miller was Engineer-Economist at the General Planning Division of Leningrad Civil Construction Research and Design Institute (LenNIIproekt under the Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council).

From 1990 to 1991 - Junior Researcher, Leningrad Finance and Economics Institute; Section Head, Economic Reform Committee, Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council.

From 1991 to 1996 - Head of the Market Monitoring Division, Foreign Economic Relations Directorate, External Relations Committee of St. Petersburg Mayor's Office; Head of the Foreign Economic Relations Directorate; Deputy Chairman of the External Relations Committee.

From 1996 to 1999 - Director for Development and Investments, Sea Port of St. Petersburg.

From 1999 to 2000 - Director General of the Baltic Pipeline System.

From 2000 to 2001 - Deputy Energy Minister of the Russian Federation.

Since 2001 - Chairman of the Management Committee, Gazprom.

Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Board of Directors since 2002.

Alexey Miller has been recognized with government and industry awards in the Russian Federation and other countries.
