Atkins (WS) PLC05 December 2006 WS ATKINS PLC BOARD COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT The new Combined Code on Corporate Governance ("the Code") applies to reportingyears beginning on or after 1 November 2006. In light of the changes to theCode, the board of WS Atkins plc ("the Company") has made the followingappointment: • Ed Wallis joins the Remuneration Committee. Mr Wallis was considered independent on appointment as Chairman of the Companyand joins Lord Boyce, James Morley and Sir Peter Williams on the Committee. SirPeter will continue as Chairman of the Committee. The appointment will take effect from 1 January 2007.
