Board Changes

London, UK, 2 July 2013: The Board of Sierra Rutile Limited (AIM: SRX) ("Sierra Rutile") announces that Michael Barton will step down as a non-executive director with effect from the close of the 2013 annual general meeting to be held at 3pm on 9 July 2013 ("2013 AGM"). Accordingly, Sierra Rutile does not intend to put resolution 8 (re-appointment of Michael Barton as a non-executive director), as set out in the notice of the 2013 AGM, to shareholders at the 2013 AGM.

Concurrent with Mr Barton's resignation, Sierra Rutile is pleased to announce the appointment of Martyn Buttenshaw as a non-executive director with effect from the close of the 2013 AGM.

Mr Buttenshaw, aged 36, is a senior manager at Pala Investments, a substantial shareholder and an investment company dedicated to investing in, and creating value across, the mining sector. Over the last two years, he has been working closely with the management of Sierra Rutile on its growth projects, marketing strategy and strategic plans. Prior to joining Pala, Mr Buttenshaw was a business development manager with Anglo American in its ferrous metals business unit, and a senior mining engineer at Rio Tinto in its technical services and industrial minerals group. He holds an MBA (with distinction) from London Business School and an MEng (First Class) in Mining Engineering from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College London.

Commenting on the appointment and departure, Jan Castro, Chairman of Sierra Rutile, said: "We would like to thank Michael for the experience and insight he brought to the Board. As a director he made a significant contribution to Sierra Rutile's business and governance, and we wish him well for the future. We are delighted to welcome Martyn to the Board. He brings extensive experience in mining operations and the mineral sands sector which will be of great value to Sierra Rutile."
