BOARD CHANGES

Cable & Wireless Communications Plc today announces the following changes to its Board of Directors:

·; Kasper Rorsted will retire as a Non-executive Director on 1 January 2011. Kasper is also a member of the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committees. He joined the Cable and Wireless plc Board in May 2003.

·; Ian Tyler will join the Cable & Wireless Communications Board of Directors as a Non-executive Director from 1 January 2011. He will also become a member of the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committees. Ian is the Chief Executive of Balfour Beatty plc, the international infrastructure group, a role he has held since 2005. Ian was formerly a Non-executive Director of VT Group plc.

Sir Richard Lapthorne, Cable & Wireless Communications Chairman commented:
