Board Changes
Appian Technology plc, the AIM listed provider of Automatic Number Plate Recognition systems ('ANPR') and traffic management products and solutions, has appointed Tony Price to its Board of Directors with immediate effect. Appian also today announce that Thomas Keene has tendered, and the board has accepted, his resignation; Thomas is leaving the Company in order to pursue an alternative career opportunity and will cease to be a Director as from 15 August 2008.
Anthony (Tony) George Price, aged 44, joined Appian as Operations Director in February 2007 and continues in this role as a member of the Board. Tony has been responsible for the delivery of complex ANPR systems to the Company's global customer base and has updated quality management systems. He is a member of the Chartered Management Institute, accredited as a Prince 2 Project Manager practitioner and holds a post graduate diploma in strategic business management. Prior to this he served in the British Army for 22 years before his retirement as a Regimental Sergeant Major in 2006. Predominantly operating in a reconnaissance role, Mr. Price gained extensive practical experience in communications and information systems management, command and control and logistics management.
Adrian Cadd will take over as head of all sales and marketing with overall responsibility for delivering sales for the Company worldwide. Having joined Appian in January 2006 as an Account Manager, he was promoted to Regional Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland in September 2006 and is responsible for Appian's strong success in this region. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Cadd served as a police officer for 14 years with a UK constabulary, where he gained experience investigating serious and organised crime, and used ANPR technology in an operational capacity to prevent and detect crime.
Appian Chairman Pat Ryan said, "We welcome Tony to the Board and look forward to his continued success at Appian. We also welcome Adrian in his new role and look forward to him continuing the success he has achieved in the UK market, extending this to international markets with his strong management and sales talents. Both are highly experienced individuals and have proved themselves to be instrumental to the Company's improving operations and performance. The Board and I would also like to take this opportunity to wish Tom well and continued success in his career and thank him for his contribution to Appian over the past four years."
