Appointment of Chief Financial Officer
Maidenhead, U.K. - Monday 4 August 2008 - SDL plc, a leader in the emerging market for Global Information Management (GIM) solutions, today announces that Alastair Gordon, the current Chief Financial Officer, will shortly be retiring. SDL is pleased to announce the appointment of John Hunter as his successor, with effect from 1 September 2008. John will also serve on the Board of Directors. Prior to Alastair's departure, there will be a sufficient period of overlap in order to ensure an orderly handover.
John has held a number of senior financial and management positions in Europe, Asia and the US. Most recently he was the Chief Financial Officer of ICI Paints, a leading global decorative business with a turnover of approximately £2.5 billion, and previously the CFO of Quest International and ICI Far Eastern and Commercial Director for the global adhesives business in National Starch. These roles have embraced evolving global organisations where the emphasis has been on developing structure and systems, with strong support to commercial operations and the strategic direction of the businesses.
SDL confirms that there are no matters requiring disclosure in relation to paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
