Board change

Penny Hughes has informed the Board that she has decided not to seek re-election as a non-executive director of Home Retail Group plc (the "Company") due to the range of her other commitments. She will therefore relinquish her current responsibilities at the conclusion of the Company's Annual General Meeting on 30 June 2011.

Oliver Stocken, Chairman of Home Retail Group, commented:

"Since joining the Board in 2006 immediately following our demerger from GUS, Penny has made a most significant contribution to our business as a non-executive director. We are very sorry that she has decided to stand down, but fully understand her reasons."
