Board change
Dragon Oil plc (Ticker: DGO), an international oil and gas exploration, development and production company, today announces that Nigel McCue has informed the Company of his intention to step down from the Board of Directors of the Company with effect from today, 25 March 2013.
Mr McCue has served on the Board of the Company for more than 10 years having been appointed in April 2002. He has also served as the Senior Independent Non-executive Director. Having been on the Board of the Company for a long uninterrupted period, Mr McCue has gained a unique in-depth understanding of the Group's business and history. He brought substantial business expertise gained from many years of working in the petroleum industry in senior roles at international oil and gas companies, as well as his financial knowledge to the Company's Board.
Thor Haugnaess has temporarily assumed the role of Senior Independent Non-executive Director. The Board will now commence a search for an additional Independent Director.
Mr Mohammed Al Ghurair, Chairman, commented:
