European Goldfields Ltd26 July 2007 For Immediate Release 26 July 2007 European Goldfields Limited Director and Management Appointments 26 July 2007 - European Goldfields Limited (TSX / AIM: EGU) (the "Company") ispleased to announce the appointment of Georgios Sossidis as a Non-executiveDirector, Neil Liddell as Senior Mining Engineer and Robert Murphy as SeniorProject Manager of the Company. Commenting on the appointments, David Reading, Chief Executive Officer ofEuropean Goldfields, said: "We are delighted to welcome Georgios, Neil and Bobto our expanding team. Georgios Sossidis will represent our Greek partner AktorS.A. on the Board, liaising with them on all strategic matters including thepending permit application for our major gold and base metals projects ofSkouries and Olympias in Greece. Neil Liddell and Bob Murphy will integrate withour team in Greece to assist in the operation of our mine at Stratoni and tohelp build our Skouries and Olympias mines. Their credentials as "mine-builders"will also be instrumental in developing our gold-silver project of Certej inRomania." Georgios Sossidis, Non-executive Director - George Sossidis, aged 56, iscurrently a member of the Board of Directors of 25 subsidiaries and associatecompanies of Elliniki Technodomiki TEB Group (ATHEX: ELTEX), operating in thefields of infrastructure, real estate and energy. He holds a Diploma in CivilEngineering and a Master of Science in Operational Research from the RWTH AachenUniversity, Germany. Mr. Sossidis started his career as an Associate Professorin the academic areas of planning and decision-making at the University ofHagen, Germany. Upon his return to Greece, he undertook positions ofresponsibility, as Management Consultant and Director, in several companiesoperating in the industrial, construction and transportation sectors. Mr.Sossidis joined the Elliniki Technodomiki TEB Group in 1991 and contributes toits rapid expansion in Greece and abroad ever since. Mr. Sossidis does not holdany common shares of the Company. Neil Liddell, Senior Mining Engineer - Neil Liddell joined the Company in July2007 from a background of over 30 years experience in both surface andunderground operations in precious and base metals and coal. Ten yearsexperience in production in southern Africa was followed as a corporate/in-houseconsultant at Shell Minerals South Africa. Subsequently, He joined IMC GroupConsulting / IMC Mackay and Schnellmann in 1991 and provided consultancyservices in roles from senior mining engineer to project manager for governmentinstitutions to private enterprises in Asia, Europe, the FSU and the Americas.Mr. Liddell managed the London Office particularly focussing on the metalsindustry and managed the CPR's for the Main Board London Stock Exchange listingsof Kazakhmys Plc (2004) and Hochschild Mining Plc (2006). Mr. Liddell'sappointment follows Neil Hepworth's resignation as Vice President, Operations ofthe Company in May 2007. Robert Murphy, Senior Project Manager - Bob Murphy spent 20 years with TechproMining & Metallurgy where he was senior principal engineer and a member of thecompany management team. He was responsible for the mechanical engineeringdepartment and worked on a variety of concentrator, hydrometallurgical, deepmine dewatering and tailings reclamation projects in Africa and Europe. Mr.Murphy has managed a variety of large projects and feasibility studies. Prior tojoining the Company in May 2007, he provided project and programme managementservices to major international pharmaceutical companies. Mr. Murphy is achartered mechanical engineer. About European Goldfields European Goldfields is a resource company involved in the acquisition,exploration and development of mineral properties in Greece, Romania andSouth-East Europe. Greece - European Goldfields holds a 95% interest in Hellas Gold S.A. HellasGold owns three major gold and base metal deposits in Northern Greece. Thedeposits are the polymetallic projects of Stratoni and Olympias which containgold, zinc, lead and silver, and the Skouries copper/gold porphyry body. HellasGold commenced production at Stratoni in September 2005 and selling an existingstockpile of Olympias gold concentrates in July 2006. Hellas Gold is applyingfor permits to develop the Skouries and Olympias projects. Romania - European Goldfields owns 80% of the Certej gold/silver project inRomania. European Goldfields submitted in March 2007 a technical feasibilitystudy to the Romanian government, in support of a permit application to developthe project.
