Ormonde Mining PLC16 April 2008 16 April 2008 Ormonde Mining plc Steve Nicol Joins Ormonde Board as Chief Operating Officer DUBLIN & LONDON: 16 April 2008 - Ormonde Mining plc ("Ormonde" or the "Company")is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Stephen ("Steve") John Nicol toOrmonde's Board as Chief Operating Officer with immediate effect. Mr. Nicol is a Mining Engineer with over 20 years experience in the miningindustry, initially in operations and subsequently in mine evaluation anddevelopment projects. He has held production supervisory roles in variousunderground and open pit mines in Australia and Europe, culminating in a twoyear period as Managing Director of Sardinia Gold Mines SpA in Italy. Morerecently, Mr. Nicol has been operating as an independent consultant working ongold and base metal mine evaluation and development projects in Romania, Greece,Italy, Guinea, Kazakhstan, Canada and the Congo. Mr. Nicol has an intimate knowledge of Ormonde's mining projects, having managedthe La Zarza Feasibility Study on behalf of Ormonde and more recently also takenon the responsibilities of Project Manager for the evaluation and development ofthe Company's Barruecopardo Tungsten Project. Ormonde's Chairman, Mike Donoghue commented, "We are very pleased to welcome Steve to the Board. His considerableoperational and development background will add further depth to the technicalexperience already present at Board level. He will continue his projectmanagement role for La Zarza and will now also take on the responsibility forfast-tracking the evaluation and development of the Barruecopardo TungstenProject."
