Oxford Instruments PLC22 November 2005 22 November 2005 Oxford Instruments strengthens Group Board Oxford Instruments plc ("Oxford Instruments"), the high technology tool andsystems business, today announces the appointment of Charles Holroyd and StevenParker to the Group Board with immediate effect. Charles Holroyd, in addition to his continuing responsibilities for the Group'sNanoAnalysis and Industrial Analysis businesses, has been appointed GroupOperations Director. He will have responsibility for optimising theeffectiveness of the various Group sites around the world and for fullydeploying manufacturing and supply chain capabilities to meet the needs of theGroup's customer facing businesses. Charles joined Oxford Instruments inNovember 1999. Steven Parker, in addition to his continuing responsibilities for the Group's USSuperconductivity businesses, takes on the additional role of Group CommercialDirector. This will involve group wide responsibility for interacting with Groupcustomers at the most senior level. Steven joined Oxford Instruments in July2002. Nigel Keen, Chairman of Oxford Instruments, commented: "These two appointmentsform an important part of a new organisational structure for Oxford Instruments,with the aim of reinforcing central strategic decision making and major newproduct development across the Group. I am delighted to welcome Charles andSteven to the main Board. In their expanded roles, they will play an importantpart in harnessing the capabilities that exist across the Group."
