IMI plc appoints non-executive director
IMI plc, the major international engineering solutions business, today announced the appointment of Bob Stack as a non-executive director with effect from 13 June 2008. Mr Stack (58) has recently announced his decision to retire at the year end as an executive director of Cadbury plc, having served over 18 years in a number of progressively senior roles. A US national, Mr Stack has extensive international experience, with a specialist capability in the fields of HR, External Affairs, and Corporate Communications. He is a non-executive director of J Sainsbury plc where he is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, and he also serves on the Advisory Committee for Management Education at INSEAD. Mr Stack will be joining the audit, nominations and remuneration committees of IMI plc.
Commenting on this appointment Norman Askew, Chairman of IMI, said "The appointment of Bob Stack considerably strengthens the independent non-executive presence at IMI. His extensive experience of international business, acquired with highly respected blue chip companies, will be of enormous value to us".
