Angela Knight set up and was Chief Executive of a specialist contract heattreatment company treating precision engineering components - Cook & KnightMetallurgical Processors Ltd - and associated process plant manufacturingcompany. From 1987 to 1992 she was a Councillor and Chief Whip on Sheffield City Council.She entered Parliament in 1992 as MP for Erewash and was Economic Secretary toH M Treasury from 1995 to 1997, until she lost her seat at the General Election. Angela Knight became Chief Executive of the Association of Private ClientInvestment Managers and Stockbrokers (APCIMS) in September 1997 until December2006. She is currently the Chief Executive of the British Bankers Associationand a non-executive director on the Boards of LogicaCMG and IFSL and a trustmember of the Port of London Authority.
