Abbey plc

Abbey plc wish to announce the appointment of Mr Anthony Quirke as a non-executive Director of the Company and also as a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees. Mr Quirke is a Corporate Sales Director at finnCap and was formerly an Equity Sales Director at Arden Partners and Sales Director at Investec before that. The Board of Abbey plc is delighted that Mr Quirke has accepted this appointment.

Mr Quirke holds no other directorships other than those within Abbey plc and its subsidiaries.

Mr Quirke has not held any directorships within the last five years.

There is no further information to be disclosed in respect of Mr Quirke as required by Schedule 2, Paragraph g, of the AIM and ESM rules for companies.
