BOARD AND COMMITTEE CHANGES

Maple Energy plc (AIM: MPLE; LIMA: MPLE), an integrated energy company with assets and operations in Peru, is pleased to announce that Mr. Carlos Palacios Rey, who currently serves as an independent non-executive director of the Board, has been appointed as Maple's independent Non-Executive Chairman effective from 9 August 2013. Mr. Palacios also currently serves on the Company's Nominations Committee and Audit Committee.

In addition, as of the same date, the Board of Directors elected two new members of its Nomination Committee. This Committee is now composed of Mr. Carlos Palacios (independent Non-Executive Chairman), Mr. Francisco Mesquita (independent Non-Executive Director) and Mr. Guillermo Ferreyros (Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director).
