Biofuels update

PDX is pleased to announce today that its Ethanol Reactor System ("ERS") installation at Pacific Ethanol Inc.'s Columbia Plant near Boardman Oregon USA is now moving into commercial production. PDX and Pacific Ethanol are in the process of agreeing formal terms for the full commercial use of the ERS, which will start operating in the Optimization mode, and PDX expects that revenues will be generated during this calendar quarter.

The installation of the ERS at Boardman has confirmed its stability, quality and viability for the corn ethanol market. The installation at Boardman will also begin validating the Cycle Time mode, which will enable more cycles to be run, thereby enhancing the total volume of ethanol produced and the return to PDX.

Commenting on the announcement, Roel Pieper, CEO of PDX, said:

"Today's announcement is a significant milestone in the commercial development of our biofuels business and I am looking forward to announcing further commercial developments as the remainder of our bioethanol plants enter commercial production."
