Beating the Blues recognised as a reimbursable treatment by Dutch Insurance Board
Innohealth BV, our Dutch partners, have today confirmed to Ultrasis a significant development in their strategic plans to make Beating the Blues available in the Netherlands.
With the recent changes in the funding of health care to an insurance based model Innohealth BV presented the evidence supporting Beating the Blues to the The Dutch Health Care Insurance Board (CVZ). This Board is responsible for co-ordinating the implementation and funding for the Cure Insurance Act (Zvw) and the Exceptional Medical Expenses Act (AWBZ).
As a consequence CVZ have approved Beating the Blues as a recognised treatment for mild and moderate depression. Beating the Blues meets the performance required to be accepted as insured according to the care insurance act and related legislation.
Nigel Brabbins Ultrasis CEO said "The recognition (of Beating the Blues) by CVZ clearly demonstrates the strength of evidence available on the effectiveness and cost benefit of Beating the Blues. The acceptance for reimbursement through insurance plans is a significant early success for our Dutch partner Innohealth BV and will add further credibility to the sales and marketing strategy for the deployment of Beating the Blues across the Netherlands."
