Majestic Wine PLC02 February 2005 2nd February 2005 MAJESTIC WINE STAFF WIN 7 WSET AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE Majestic Wine is delighted to announce that 7 members of staff were awarded theWine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) "Awards of Excellence" at the Vintners'Hall in London on Monday 31st January. All new Majestic staff sit the WSET Advanced Certificate after 6 months ofjoining the company, reflecting the emphasis Majestic places on product trainingand customer service. This year 5 awards for outstanding performance were givento Majestic staff: • Simon Eddleston, Assistant Manager of Majestic Epsom, won the Vintners' Bursary to be used towards the cost of a foreign study tour. • Suzanna Harrison, Assistant Manager of Majestic Aylesbury, won the Oddbins Scholarship for a place on the WSET study tour to a major wine and/or spirit producing region. • Christopher James, Trainee Manager of Majestic South Kensington, won the Champagne Academy Scholarship. • Andrew Fenton, Assistant Manager of Majestic Docklands. won the Porter and Laker prize for a £500 contribution towards the fees of the WSET Diploma course. • Charlie Matthews, Assistant Manager of Majestic Roehampton. won the Rhone Prize for a silver-plated wine cooler and a case of Rhone wines This year alone, Majestic sponsored more than 70 staff through the 2 year WSETDiploma in Wines and Spirits and is delighted that 2 awards for outstandingperformance were given to members of its staff: • Camilla Bordewich, Buyer won the Vina Carmen Scholarship for a week's study trip to Chile • Sally Barlow, Manager of Majestic Putney won the Calem Port Scholarship for a study visit to the Port Region.
