Awarded Innovate UK grant for energy management project
PhotonStar LED Group plc (AIM: PSL, "PhotonStar" or "the Group"), the British designer and manufacturer of smart LED lighting solutions, has been awarded a grant by Innovate UK, the renamed Technology Strategy Board, for up to £123,400 against eligible costs of £205,700.
The grant has been awarded for a project titled Smart In-building Micro-Grid for Energy Management that will deliver future energy management solutions for buildings. The partners in the project consortium are Xsilon Ltd (project lead), PhotonStar Technology Ltd and Manchester Metropolitan University, the combined total eligible costs are anticipated at £549,000.
The grant will be available from 1 March 2015 to 1 December 2016 on the completion of certain development milestones.
James McKenzie, Chief Executive of the PhotonStar LED Group, said:
"We are delighted to be participating in this project, which will enable us to further extend the energy monitoring and future building management capabilities of our wireless intelligent lighting system halcyon. We also anticipate control extensions to the platform to include power line communications."
