Cumbria County Council Awards 25 year Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Contract to Shanks
Shanks is pleased to announce that Cumbria County Council has approved the award of its 25 year, £700 million PPP waste management contract subject to satisfactory financial closure.
The award of this contract will see Shanks develop and manage new waste and recycling facilities along with Cumbria's existing household waste recycling centres (HWRCs). In order to achieve this, Shanks will employ its proven Intelligent Transfer Station (ITS) Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) technology used in waste facilities across Europe and the UK.
Shanks continues to anticipate financial closure and contract commencement in early 2009.
