'Pinky & Perky' nominated for best Children's Series award
at The UK Broadcast Awards 2010
DQ Entertainment (DQE), the AIM traded animation, gaming and entertainment company, is pleased to announce that its 52-part CGI animated series 'Pinky & Perky' was nominated for the Best Children's Series Award at The UK Broadcast Awards 2010 held last night in London on 27 January 2010. Other nominations include; Dustbin Baby, Kindle Entertainment for BBC1/CBBC, Escape from Scorpion Island, The Foundation TV Production for BBC2, Horrible Histories, Lion Television for CBBC, KNTV - The Act of Sex, Tern Television for C4 and Bookaboo, Happy Films for CITV.
The UK Broadcast Awards, an annual event, recognises the UK's most groundbreaking and successful TV shows. It seeks to reward/acknowledge outstanding creativity, quality, originality and results - in terms of ratings, critical acclaim and the ability to stand head and shoulders above all the competition.
'Pinky & Perky' is a co-production with Pinky & Perky Enterprises, UK and Method Films, France commissioned by CBBC and France 3. The series, since first launching on CBBC on 3 November 2008, has attracted the highest viewing figures on the channel and consequently secured a daily slot on BBC1. The first series is currently available on DVD.
The series has attracted broadcasting interest across the globe, with international TV distribution rights being handled by ITV Global Entertainment Ltd. 'Pinky & Perky' was broadcast on France 3, ABC Australia, TVP Poland, KTV South Africa, BBTV Thailand, PBS Malta & Cyprus, Alter Channel Greece and on several Nordic country channels in 2009.
