AVEVA Group PLC06 March 2006 6 March 2006 AVEVA Group plc wins prestigious Business Weekly Award AVEVA Group plc, one of the world's leading providers of engineering data anddesign IT systems, headquartered in Cambridge, announces that it has beenawarded the Growth and Expansion Award for the East of England at the BusinessWeekly 2005 Business Awards, hosted 1 March 2006. The annual awards which were founded in 1990, celebrate the continuinginternationalisation and strength of the East of England business scene,recognising the achievements of the region's most successful businesses, fromsmall dynamic start-ups and spinouts to large private and quoted corporations.The awards were broken down into five categories, which included Innovation,Growth and Expansion, Private Company of the Year, Quoted Company of the Yearand International Trade. The Growth and Expansion Award, which acknowledges companies that havedemonstrated strong growth over the last year, whether in terms of turnover,staff numbers, physical presence, new products or markets, was contested bytwenty one companies. Following a rigorous evaluation process by a panel ofjudges which included Hermann Hauser of Amadeus Capital Partners, LaurenceGarrett of 3i, John Lee of Odyssey Ventures, Charles Cotton of Level 5 Networksand Library House as well as representatives from UK Trade & Investment,Eversheds, Deloitte, Lloyds Corporate, BAA Stansted and OpportunityPeterborough, AVEVA was judged the overall winner in this category. Other winners on the night included Abcam plc, Cambridge Antibody Technology,CSR plc, Owlstone Nanotech and Sepura Ltd.
