Asacha mining and production update
LONDON: 19 July 2013 - Trans-Siberian Gold plc ("TSG" or the "Company") (TSG.L) reports that mine development activities at Asacha in the second quarter of 2013 comprised approximately 795 metres, while ore extraction (including ore from stoping and mine development) amounted to 47,923 metric tonnes, the highest quarterly total to date. In the same period, an average 11,766 mt per month was processed through the Asacha plant.
During the second quarter of 2013 implementation of the previously reported measures to increase the quality of the ore continued, including changes in stoping methods, additional mobile machinery and qualified personnel and improved control of ore blasting and haulage, intended to reduce the volume of ore stored underground.
As reported earlier TSG expects that the steps currently being taken will result in a gradual improvement of the gold grade. The June gold grade of 6.84 g/t was the highest monthly grade in the first half of 2013 and the Company is cautiously optimistic that further improvements will be achieved during the third quarter.
