Costain Group PLC12 September 2005 Costain Group PLC Appointment of new Chief Executive The Board of Costain Group PLC ("Costain") is pleased to announce that AndrewWyllie BSc (Hons), MBA, FICE, CEng has been appointed to the Board of Costain asChief Executive with effect from the opening of business on Monday 12 September2005. Mr Wyllie has not held a directorship in a publicly quoted company on theLondon Stock Exchange in the last five years. There are no details to report inrespect of paragraphs LR9.6.13R(2)(II)(vi) inclusive of the Listing Rules. It was announced on 25 April 2005 that Andrew Wyllie would succeed StuartDoughty, CMG, BSc, CEng, FICE as Chief Executive.
