Gleeson(M J)Group PLC03 January 2007 MJ GLEESON GROUP PLC Appointment of Group Chief Executive Gleeson (GLE.L) announces that Paul Wallwork ACA, 44, Interim Group ChiefExecutive since July 2006, has been appointed Group Chief Executive withimmediate effect. Paul Wallwork joined the Group as Finance Director in January 2006. He wasformerly at Inchcape, where he was the Managing Director of a business unit of asimilar size to the restructured Gleeson Group, having originally trained as anaccountant with Arthur Young, qualifying as an ACA. Chairman Dermot Gleeson said: "Paul has overseen much of the successfulimplementation of the revised corporate strategy announced in March 2006, whichwas principally designed to reduce the Group's exposure to contracting in theconstruction sector and to strengthen its position in the three related areas ofurban housing regeneration, commercial property development and strategic landtrading. Following a search involving external consultants, we are confidentthat Paul is the correct choice to continue delivering the transformationalchange which our new strategic vision requires." Mr Gleeson added: "Pending the outcome of a competitive selection processinvolving external consultants, Chris Holt will continue to act as InterimFinance Director."
