cloudBuy named approved supplier for the UK Government's G-Cloud 5 framework

cloudBuy plc (AIM:CBUY), the cloud eCommerce marketplace, is pleased to announce that it has been recognised as an approved supplier for the UK Government's G-Cloud 5, in each of the four lots of the framework.

The procurement represents the fifth iteration of the Government's programme to promote public sector adoption of cloud computing. The G-Cloud is a set of frameworks for the public sector to buy cloud-based services in a flexible and open way through the CloudStore.

The four framework lots are:

· Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS),

· Platform as a Service (PaaS),

· Software as a Service (SaaS) and

· Specialist Cloud Services (SCS)

The G-Cloud 5 is similar to G-Cloud 4 in that it is an initiative designed to consolidate cloud-based IT services into a shared framework for use by public authorities. Access to this framework will enable public sector IT services to be increasingly innovative, versatile and cost effective, through the ability to rent IT services on a pay per usage basis. The framework was tendered with an estimated value of £200 million.

cloudBuy has benefitted from inclusion in the previous iterations of the G-Cloud, with approximately £600k of business being generated through the SaaS lot this year. In particular, the Company has a strong offering in the eCommerce area where there are very few competitors.
