Travis Perkins PLC24 April 2006 24 April 2006 Travis Perkins PLC Appointment of Non-Executive Director The Board of Travis Perkins plc is pleased to announce the appointment ofStephen Carter as a non-executive director on 24th April 2006. Mr Carter, age42, who has a law degree, is the chief executive of Ofcom, the communicationsindustry regulator. From 2000 to 2002, he was Managing Director and ChiefOperating Officer, UK and Ireland, for NTL, and between 1992 and 2000 he held anumber of senior posts in JWT UK Group, becoming Chief Executive Officer, and adirector of JWT Worldwide, from 1997. He was previously a non-executivedirector of Trucost plc. Tim Stevenson, chairman of Travis Perkins, commented: "It gives me great pleasure to welcome Stephen Carter to our board. His currentand previous executive roles have given him exposure to a number of businesssectors, and, at this point in Travis Perkins' development, we expect to benefitin particular from his experience of directing change in large organisations."
