D1 Oils Plc21 September 2006 21st September 2006, Appointment Release - Tony Larkin D1 Oils Hires Sales and Marketing Manager D1 Oils plc (D1), the UK-based global producer of biodiesel, has hired a seniorsales manager to head its UK and European sales and marketing of biodiesel. TonyLarkin, aged 41, was senior sales development manager with BP European fleetservices. Larkin's appointment will boost D1's ability to build its presence inthe UK and European biodiesel markets. Larkin has over ten years of experience in the UK commercial fuel and lubricantsmarkets. At BP European fleet services he managed a UK team of accountdevelopment managers in the haulage and bus & coach sectors, includinglubricants, fuel cards and fleet performance management. Having spent eightyears as a sales and quality assurance manager in the steel industry, Larkinbegan his fuels career as a sales representative at Brett Fuels. He then movedto Castrol UK Limited as agricultural area manager for the North of England,progressing to commercial area manager and commercial regional sales manager.His sector experience includes haulage, commercial franchised dealers, bus &coach, quarrying, plant, forestry and agricultural sectors. Following thepurchase of Castrol by BP, Larkin remained as regional sales manager until hismove to Bp European fleet services. Commenting on his appointment, Tony Larkin said: "I'm very much looking forwardto helping D1 establish its presence as a leader in the UK and Europeanbiodiesel markets. We are now seeing many large volume diesel usersinvestigating the potential benefits of switching to biodiesel and we have theopportunity to create a market that will help reduce emissions from thetransport sector.
