Appointment of Senior Independent Director
On 28 August 2015, the Company announced that Allister Langlands, currently Exova's Senior Independent Director, will replace Fred Kindle as Non-Executive Chairman with effect from 1 January 2016.
The Company is pleased to announce that Bill Spencer will replace Allister Langlands as Senior Independent Director with effect from 1 January 2016. Bill became a Non-Executive Director of the Company in advance of its IPO in April 2014 and he was a Non-Executive Director of the previous parent company of the Exova Group from July 2011.
Bill has extensive experience of the testing, inspection and certification industry. He began working in the industry in 1992, when he joined Inchcape Testing Services (part of Inchcape plc) as a Financial Controller. He later became the Finance Director of the Testing Services Division of Inchcape plc. In this role, he led the buy-out when Intertek acquired the testing business from Inchcape in 1996. He continued as the Chief Financial Officer of Intertek upon its IPO in 2002. He was the Chief Financial Officer of Intertek Group plc until 2010.
Bill is a Chartered Management Accountant and Corporate Treasurer and has a BSc in Management Sciences from the University of Manchester. He is a non-executive director and Audit Committee Chairman of UK Mail Group plc and an independent non-executive member of the Finance Committee of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
