Appointment of Rockbury Capital ('Rockbury')
Nyota Minerals Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Rockbury Capital to provide advice and services in connection with the development of the Tulu Kapi project in Ethiopia ("Tulu Kapi" or the "Project").
Following the rapid progress at Tulu Kapi, the Company has retained Rockbury as specialist advisors to assist with advancing the Project and maximising the potential for shareholders of the regional gold exploration story. Rockbury will work with the Company in progressing the development plans for the Project with the aim of securing debt and equity financing for the construction and commissioning of gold mining and processing operations at Tulu Kapi.
As part of the process, Rockbury will review all aspects of the Company's technical, financial and environmental documentation on an ongoing basis. Rockbury's experience will ensure that the final document suite is prepared to internationally accepted standards and can be readily used for project finance purposes.
Rockbury will also assist the Company in negotiations with the various Project stakeholders, and finally, also evaluate strategic alternatives on the corporate side in order to maximize shareholder value.
Prior to the appointment of Rockbury, the Company evaluated a number of proposals to provide services in this regard. After comprehensive analysis, the Company chose to appoint Rockbury whose independence and extensive global experience was considered most appropriate to secure the optimum outcome for Nyota and its shareholders.
Rockbury principal Mr Gerard Holden has over 25 years experience in the natural resources sector, for the most part, within Barclays Bank and Barclays Capital, culminating in a term of seven years in the position of Global Head of Mining & Metals in London. Mr. Holden is currently an independent non-executive director of MMC Norilsk Nickel, the world's largest Nickel producer. He also serves as non-executive Chairman of GCM Resources plc, an AIM-listed company developing a significant coal resource in Bangladesh, and non-executive Chairman of Verivox GmbH, the company behind a successful German internet price comparison site.
Nyota CEO, Terry Tucker said "Rockbury brings to the company a depth of experience in project development and financing that will ensure that the Tulu Kapi Project and the broader gold province delivers maximum value to the shareholders of Nyota."
