Appointment of President of U.S. Operations
First Derivatives plc (AIM: FDP.L, ESM: GYQ.I), a leading provider of software and consulting services to global investment banks and hedge funds, announces the appointment of Dale Richards as President and member of the Board of Directors of First Derivatives, U.S. Inc., its American operation.
Mr. Richards joins First Derivatives as an industry leader in capital markets consulting, and has a 25 year history of success in the software sector and the data/information industry. Previous positions include Chief Data Officer, President Enterprise Data Management (EDM) & Executive Vice President of Corporate Business Development at SunGard, where he was also one of the three founding members of the EDM Council. Prior to SunGard he was President & CEO FAME Information Services, a leading global software and managed data services vendor in Energy and Financial markets. Before FAME, he was Founder, President & CEO of Benton Associates, a global consulting, software solutions, data management and quantitative analytics company acquired by FAME.
Additionally, Mr. Richards has held senior product and client-facing positions with Algorithmics, Reuters and Interactive Data and holds an Honours BA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario.
In conjunction with this appointment, LakeFront Data Ventures, a boutique data management company founded by Mr. Richards which provides consultancy and strategic advisory services, will become a strategic partner with First Derivatives. Mr. Richards will remain on the board of LakeFront.
