Regal Petroleum PLC25 April 2005 Immediate Release 25 April 2005 REGAL PETROLEUM PLC ("Regal") Appointment of Non-Executive Directors Regal is pleased to announce the appointments of Professor Christopher DavidGreen and Dr Rex Gaisford as Non-Executive Directors of Regal. Professor Green (aged 56) is an explorationist and a qualified Geophysicist withover 32 years industry experience including 24 years at subsidiaries of Shell,the oil major, where he held various senior positions until his departure in1998 as a Principal Geophysicist and Global Shell Group Advisor. From 1998 to2001 Professor Green was a Director of Strategic Development and Geosciences atRacal Electronics PLC, from 2001 to 2004 he was the Chief Technical Officer ofThales Geosolutions Group Ltd and from 1996 to 2004 he was Professor ofGeophysics at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. Professor Green has aBachelor of Science, a Masters of Science and a PhD from the University ofDundee. Professor Green was elected a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Societyand a Fellow of the Geological Society, and is a Member of the Institute ofPetroleum and a Member of the European Society of Exploration Geophysicists.Professor Green's appointment is effective from 1 May 2005. Dr Gaisford (aged 65) is a qualified mechanical engineer with over 30 yearsexperience in the oil and gas industry, where he specialised in large scaleproject development, operations and business development, including 12 years atAmerada Hess Corporation, where he was Executive Vice-President and Directorbefore retiring in 2000, 3 years as Managing Director of Beatrice ResourcesLimited and 7 years as General Manager of Britoil PLC. In 2000 Dr Gaisfordfounded the RCM Group, an online recruitment business, where he is currentlyExecutive Chairman. From 1996 until 2002 he was a Non-Executive Director of theUK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA). Dr Gaisford holds a Bachelor of Science anda PhD from Manchester University. Dr Gaisford was elected a Fellow of the RoyalSociety of Arts, a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, a Fellow ofthe Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Institute of Petroleum and wasawarded a Commander, Order of the British Empire (CBE) in June 1995. DrGaisford's appointment is effective from 1 May 2005.
