APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Trevor Stanley Schultz to the Board of Centamin Egypt Limited, effective immediately.
Mr Schultz (age 66) has a Masters Degree in Economics from Cambridge University, a Masters of Science Degree in Mining from the Witwatersrand University and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.
Trevor has more than 40 years experience at the executive management and board level with leading international mining companies, including BHP, RTZ/CRA, Pegasus Gold and Ashanti Goldfields. His roles included development of several new mining operations in Africa, South America and the U.S.A., negotiations with various governments and their agencies and project financing and capital raisings.
Most recently Trevor was the President and CEO of Guinor Gold Corporation which was responsible for construction and commissioning of the 7Mt per year gold plant at the LEFA gold mine in Guinea.
Trevor's appointment to the Board during the development of the Sukari Gold Project brings significant skill and expertise to the construction programme which will flow through to the operations phase in early 2009.
Mr Schultz is currently a director of Pacific Road Capital Management. From April 2003 until December 2005, Mr Schultz was a director of Guinor Gold Corporation, from December 2003 to June 2006 was a director of Southern Era Pty Ltd and from October 1996 to December 2003 was a director of Ashanti Goldfields Pty Ltd. There is no other information to disclose under Schedule Two, paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules.
Mr Schultz does not hold any ordinary shares in Centamin Egypt Limited.
