Appointment of Non-Executive Directors
WYG plc (WYG or the Group), the global programme, project management and technical consultancy, today announces the appointment of Jeremy Beeton and Neil Masom as Non-Executive Directors of the Group with immediate effect.
Jeremy Beeton, CB, joins with more than 40 years' international business experience including in Government, corporate, project management, construction and facilities management. He is currently a Non-Executive Director of SSE plc and John Laing Group plc prior to which he spent five years (2007-2012) as Director General of the UK Government Olympic Executive, where he was responsible for supervising the delivery of the London Olympic Games. During that time he was also on the Board of several Government departments, including the Ministry of Justice, and undertook a number of major project reviews for Government departments including the Treasury, MOD and Department of Transport. Between 1999 and 2007, he was Principal Vice President and Director of Bechtel Ltd with responsibility for the management and delivery of Bechtel's worldwide civil engineering projects in its infrastructure and aviation business lines. Jeremy will be appointed Senior Independent Non-executive Director and sit on the Audit & Risk, Remuneration and Nominations Committees.
Neil Masom, OBE, brings 15 years of Board experience in Executive and Non-Executive roles, having worked extensively at senior levels in both commercial and public sector environments. In particular, his more than 30 years' experience of working in complex, politically sensitive and international organisations, means that Neil brings a strong understanding of and network within UK Government. He was appointed to the board of HS2 in September 2014 as Director and Audit Committee Chair, and also holds Non-Executive Director roles at IFS AB, a quoted Swedish IT software company; Solutions SK Ltd, a property management, highways, environmental and support services company; and CQC Holdings Ltd, a leading supplier of clothing and equipment to the armed forces. He was formerly Non-Executive Chairman of FCO Services, a Government Trading Fund which provides Property Management, secure ICT and Logistics Services to the FCO and other overseas government agencies. Neil's previous executive roles have included some 30 years with BAE Systems (previously at British Aerospace), culminating in the position of Managing Director, Logistics and Information Systems. Neil will chair WYG's Remuneration Committee and be appointed a member of the Audit & Risk and Nominations Committees.
Commenting on the appointments, Mike McTighe, Non-Executive Chairman of WYG, said:
"Having announced in June this year that we would be seeking additional Non Executive Director talent with skill sets and backgrounds that are closely aligned to WYG's markets, we are delighted to welcome Jeremy and Neil to the Board. Their wealth of experience at senior levels in the commercial and public sectors will be of great benefit to WYG, as we continue to drive the Group forward, and uphold our strong positions in our chosen territories and markets."
