Appointment of Non-Executive Director
Infinis Energy plc ("Infinis" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Baroness Sally Morgan of Huyton as an independent non-executive director of the Company with effect from 27 March 2014. Baroness Morgan will also serve as a member of the Company's Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committees with effect from 27 March 2014.
Baroness Morgan is currently a non-executive Director of Carphone Warehouse Group plc and a member of the advisory committee of Virgin Group Holdings Ltd.
Sally Morgan was Political Secretary to the then Prime Minister, Tony Blair, from 1997 to 2001 when she became a Member of the House of Lords and Minister for Women and Equalities. She then returned to 10 Downing Street as Director of Government Relations until the General Election in 2005. Since then, Baroness Morgan has had a range of board and advisory roles including serving on the Board of the Olympic Delivery Authority from 2006-2012. Originally a teacher, she has maintained a strong interest in education. She is an adviser to the board of the children's charity ARK, chairs the headteacher training initiative Future Leaders, finishes her term as Chair of Ofsted later this year and serves on the Council of Kings College, University of London.
Infinis' Chairman, Ian Marchant, commented: "I am delighted that Sally has agreed to join the Infinis board. Sally's extensive experience in decision-making by corporates and policy makers will be of significant value to the board. She has a wealth of knowledge of a broad range of sectors and organisations which will enhance the effectiveness of the board and its committees."
There are no other disclosures required in respect of Baroness Morgan pursuant to Rules 9.6.11 to 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules of the Financial Conduct Authority.
