Appointment of Non-Executive Director
easyJet plc announces today that Bob Rothenberg MBE, senior partner in the accountancy firm of Blick Rothenberg, has been appointed to the easyJet Board as a non-executive director with effect from 1 August 2009.
The appointment has been made under the terms of the Company's Articles which give Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, the Company's founder ('Stelios'), certain nominee director-appointment rights on behalf of easyGroup Holdings Limited, his private investment vehicle and a shareholder in easyJet plc. Mr. Rothenberg's nomination by Stelios has been formally endorsed by the members of the Company's Nominations Committee. Following Mr. Rothenberg's appointment the Board of easyJet plc will continue to have a majority of Directors who are deemed to be independent.
Sir David Michels, Chairman of easyJet plc commented:

Bob Rothenberg, aged 59, is senior partner in the London-based accountancy firm of Blick Rothenberg. Bob is a Governor of Highgate School and a Trustee of The Prince's Foundation for the Built Environment. He was made an MBE in the 2007 New Year's Honours List for services to business and to the community in London.
