Appointment of Non-Executive Director
Notification under Listing Rule 9.6.14 in regard to existing non-executive director
The Board of Travis Perkins plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Jansen as a non-executive director on 9 April 2009. Mr Jansen, age 42, has a BSc in Economics from University College, Cardiff and is a Group Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive of Europe for Sodexo, having joined that company in 2004 as Chief Executive, UK and Ireland. He is also a non-executive director of the Professional Cricketers' Association and has previously been a member of the UK Better Regulation Commission. He was Chief Operating Officer of My Travel Group plc between 2002 and 2004 and prior to that was the Managing Director for the Consumer Division of Telewest Communications PLC. Between 1988 and 1999, he held a number of senior commercial and marketing positions with Procter & Gamble and Dunlop Slazenger Group.

Mr. Jansen does not hold any shares in the company.
Mr. Jansen was a director of My Travel Group plc from September 2002 until June 2004. In December 2004, My Travel Group plc implemented a conversion into equity of approximately £800m of its unsecured debt and facilities. There is no other information in relation to Mr. Jansen's appointment to be disclosed under Rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
In addition, under Rule 9.6.14 of the Listing Rules, the Company discloses that John Coleman, one of its non-executive directors, was appointed as non-executive chairman of Holidaybreak PLC on 8 April 2009.
