Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Cape plc, the international provider of essential, non-mechanical support services principally to the energy and mineral resources sectors, is delighted to announce the appointment of Leslie Van de Walle as Non-Executive Director with effect from 22 August 2012.

Leslie comes to Cape with a wealth of international and corporate experience having been a director of various companies within the Shell International Petroleum and United Biscuits (where he also served as CEO between 1999 and 2000) groups of companies and more recently for Rexam plc where he served as CEO between 2007 and 2009.

He also served as a Non-Executive Director for Aegis Group plc between 2003 and 2009 and Aviva plc between 2009 and 2012.

In addition, Leslie served as a Non-Executive Director for SIG plc between October 2010 and February 2011 and currently serves as their Non-Executive Chairman. His current appointments also include Non-Executive Directorships for the Irish based DCC plc and as Senior Independent Director for the Spanish based listed company, La Seda de Barcelona. With effect from 1 October 2012, Leslie will also take up the position of Non-Executive Chairman for Robert Walters plc.

Leslie will sit on the Audit and Remuneration Committees.

Concurrent with Leslie's appointment as Non-Executive Director, as announced on 31 August 2011, David McManus will stand down as Non-Executive Director, having served on the board for just less than eight years.

The Company confirms that there are no further details that are required to be disclosed under paragraph LR 9.6.13 R of the UK Listing Rules in respect of Leslie Van de Walle.
