Appointment of Non-Executive Director

British Polythene Industries PLC ("BPI") is pleased to announce the appointment of Ron Marsh (60), as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 7 March 2011

Ron has 40 years experience in the packaging industry and, since 1989, has been Chief Executive of the RPC Group, Europe's leading supplier of rigid plastic packaging products. Prior to that he was involved in the manufacture and sale of folding cartons, initially with Metal Box (1971-1987) and subsequently with Reed International.

Ron is also a Director of the Packaging Federation (a company limited by guarantee).

Commenting on the appointment Cameron McLatchie, Chairman said:

"I am delighted to welcome Ron to the Board. Ron brings with him extensive experience in the plastics packaging industry across Europe and we look forward to his contribution at BPI."

There are no other details to be disclosed in respect of the requirements of paragraph 9.6 13R of the Listing Rules of the UK Financial Services Authority.
