Appointment of Non Executive Director

Applied Graphene Materials plc, the producer of specialty graphene materials, is pleased to announce that Michael Sean Christie (Sean) has been appointed as a Non Executive Director of the Group, with appointment commencing from 24 April 2014.

Sean Christie, aged 56, is currently Group Finance Director of Croda International plc which is a global manufacturer of speciality chemicals. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and holds one other Non Executive role with Eminate Limited which is a wholly owned subsidiary of The University of Nottingham.

Prior to joining Croda in 2006, Sean was Group Finance Director of Northern Foods plc. He has also served as a Non Executive Director of KCOM Group plc until 2007 and of Cherry Valley Farms Limited until its sale in 2010.

Sean will be appointed as Chairman of the Group's Audit and Remuneration Committees and will join the Nominations Committee.

Applied Graphene Materials was founded by Professor Karl Coleman in 2010 with its operations and processes based on technology that he initially developed at Durham University. The Group was admitted to AIM in November 2013, raising £11 million, and is based at the Wilton Site on Teesside.
