Appointment of Non-Executive Director

30 October 2014 WINCANTON PLC ("the Company") Appointment of Non-Executive Director Wincanton plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Stewart Oades as anIndependent Non-Executive Director of the Company effective from 1st November2014. Mr Oades will also be appointed as a member of the Company's audit,nomination and remuneration committees. Mr Oades is currently a Non-Executive Director of Palmer & Harvey and aNon-Executive Director of MW Brands. He has also held the position of Presidentof the Freight Transport Association from 2009 to 2013. Mr Oades was a Non-Executive of Clipper Group plc from 2009 to 2011. Prior tothen he was Chief Executive of Christian Salvesen plc, a post he held from 2005until 2008. Previously Mr Oades held a number of senior posts at Exel plc from1996 to 2005. Mr Oades does not currently hold any Wincanton plc shares and no furtherinformation in connection with his appointment is required to be disclosedpursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13R.
